Igor Reis nasceu, vive e trabalha em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Formou-se em Artes Plásticas e licenciatura, com habilitação em Escultura e Cerâmica, pela Escola Guignard – UEMG. Em 2011, estabeleceu-se na Índia onde prosseguiu sua pesquisa, atuando também como professor de Artes Visuais na Geekay World School. Em Ranipet, Índia, realizou a exposição individual titulada Sons na Edify Art Galery. Em 2013, mudou-se para a China onde permaneceu também por um ano, a convite, para desenvolver pesquisas artísticas e lecionar na Song C. Ling International School. Ainda na China, em Chengdu, participou da Exposição Western China Ceramic Art Biennale, onde apresentou o resultado de suas pesquisas no país. De volta ao Brasil, participou de diversas exposições individuais e coletivas, sendo as mais recentes: O Festival de Arte Contemporânea da Casa Camelo em Belo Horizonte, U.S.O exposição individual na Galeria GLTA em Ouro Preto e Fartura 2ª Edição no Galpão Paraíso. Foi coordenador da área de Artes Visuais na ELA - Escola Livre de Artes Arena da Cultura onde também ministrou cursos de Artes Visuais e contemporaneidade. Atualmente possui atelier no Vale da Serra da Moeda onde desenvolve suas pesquisas. Atua também como professor de escultura e cerâmica em seu atelier.

Igor Reis was born, lives and works in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. He graduated in Fine Arts and is licensed in art education, with qualification in Sculpture and Ceramics, by Guignard School - UEMG. In 2011, he settled in India where he continued his aesthetic research, also acting as a Visual Arts teacher at Geekay World School. In Ranipet, India, he held the solo exhibition titled Sons at Edify Art Galery. In 2013, he moved to China where he also stayed for a year, on invitation, to develop artistic research and teach at Song C. Ling International School. Still in China, in Chengdu, he participated in the Western China Ceramic Art Biennale Exhibition, where he presented the results of his research in the country. Back in Brazil, he participated in several individual and collective exhibitions, the most recent being: The Casa Camelo Contemporary Art Festival in Belo Horizonte, U.S.The individual exhibition at the Galeria GLTA in Ouro Preto and Fartura 2nd Edition at the Galpão Paraíso.

He was coordinator of the Visual Arts department at ELA - Escola Livre de Arte Arena da Cultura, where he also taught Visual Arts and Contemporary Art courses. He currently has a studio in the Serra da Moeda Valley where he develops his research. He also works as a sculpture and pottery teacher in his studio.
