My passion for photography has begun when I was 13-year-old, and my father gave me, as a gift, one little developing kit and copies of negatives.
The next step was buying a Rolleiflex, an enlarger and assembling
small photographic lab, which allowed me to learn a lot about the subject.
Although my occupations as engineer and college professor complicated my dedication to photography, I kept on updating my knowledge and practicing as an amateur to improve my technique.
Digital Photography opened a new world to me.
Since it became feasible to amateur use, I decided to improve my knowledge through the existent bibliography in USA and Europe and using the few equipments available in my country.
In the beginning of 2000, I had the opportunity to structure one of the first Brazilian courses of Digital Photography in partnership with UNICAMP (Campinas State University).
Due to COVID pandemic, I could not travel to new places or old ones, this has limited my portfolio for the time being. I however intend to come back as soon as possible.
My equipments are:
Nikon D80 with 10/20 , 18/70 , 80/300 mm
Nikon P500
Hasselblad XPan II with 45 mm
Sekonic 508

"I don't plan my pictures, i feel them. The images come in through the eyes and skin.
There is beauty everywhere, closer than we can imagine.
We just need to look carefully and patiently, so it can be seen.
To see what everybody sees, but doesn't realize. That's what photography is: discover the hidden beauty."
Francisco Gomes
“Photography is not, or should not be, about photography or photographers. It should be about communication and connection, about description and relation, about ideas and emotions, about feelings, facts, our world, lives, lands, visions, and dreams. It is a human expression and human virtue.” – Brooks Jensen
