From 22 to 24 March 2018, ABA ROLI hosted the second Regional Internet Freedom Summit, in cooperation with the Internet Freedom Platform of Eastern and Central Europe and Eurasia .

 

More than 120 Internet freedom experts and human rights activists from Europe and Eurasia gathered together in Struga, #Macedonia, to discuss the latest developments in online freedom of expression, privacy, and cyber-security. Participants discussed the self-regulation and government regulation of the Internet, trust and security in the digital economy, and the protection of privacy, and many other issues.

 

In addition to the prominent experts and human rights activists from Central, Southeast Europe and Eurasia regions, ABA ROLI hosted representatives from international organizations such as the OSCE – The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Global Voices Advox, the Center for Democracy & Technology, and Tech Against Terrorism.

 

The hashtag for the summit is #IFSummit.

 

The Internet Freedom Platform of Eastern and Central Europe and Eurasia is established by civil society organizations in these regions, that work on fostering of the freedom of expression, association and flow of information on internet. Its members share a common objective for a global Internet Freedom, based on their experience of defending in our respective countries and we share a common understanding that the regional cooperation is essential to achieving this objective.
