There are few " originals " on Flickr - or, indeed, anywhere else. Someone whose nickname may be pronounced in two different ways seems to display some of the necessary characteristics. Even the briefest glance through ifido's photostream soon confirms that here is an " out-of-the-box " thinker. Watching him " at work " juggling camera and crutches illustrates the difficulty with which his eye-catching images are captured. At the same time, his titles hint at a mind humourously determined not to let his physical condition inhibit his creativity. What a guy !!

I joined Flickr nearly a year ago and your photostream has been a huge source of inspiration to a conventional old landscaper like me. Always something new, challenging and different, you consistently produce extraordinary images from the most ordinary of scenes. Your work is a great influence – I’m now looking for different things, different angles and I know my photography has benefitted because of the opportunity I have had to see your work. Testimonial and talky time...about Paul aka Ifido. Firstly i was asked to add him as a friend so that i could peruse 'The Windmill'....after that? It was all every which way! Well, if ever I am a bit down, Paul will inevitably post a pic that is a snorter. His is a stream full of every facet of photography you are likely to ever need or see. It blows me away! Unusual objects take on a new life and the usual becomes extra-ordinary. And as for his long suffering moggy? Buttons is a complete star :) His pure bloodymindedness, honesty, warped SOH bring me back time and again, and if help is needed, its given. I am over the moon to see him out driving again, his images are being given a wider scope and that is showing hard at the mo. What can I say about Paul's art that hasn't already been said? I don't know, but I'll give it a go and write from the heart. I met Paul for a very brief time about a year ago now, and the imagery he portrays obvously comes from an acutely keen eye - unlike any other I know. He's a fabulous person, witty, likeable and the sort of guy you'd be proud to call your 'mate'. But we're talking photographs here. And in Paul's case, he never fails to astound me. Just when you think you've seen the last photograph of Ballycopeland Windmill, or Donaghadee Lighthouse, Paul pulls another rabbit from his hat and produces something astounding. Not that he limits himself to any particular subject - Paul can look at any scene and capture an image which makes your jaw drop. (although he does seem to have an affinity for horses... ahem!!) If I could see the world like Paul I'd be delighted. If I could photograph it anywhere like he does, I'd be exuberant. This guy rocks. PS. One question I have for Paul - is your Flickr id I-fido or If-I-do? Never could figure this one out????!!!

From his witty and charming personality (still laugh at your comment about the irish traffic jam!) to his helpfulness and friendliness (thanks for the tip off's for potential photo ops) , paul is one contact that you want to have, and one photostream that you'll revisit over and over again. you'll not want to miss out on what delights he's captured.
