Ida's photographs are hinting at something... They begin simply enough. You may not know it yet, this is the beginning of a sequence, a story and/or a journey. This is what I like so much about her work; the emphasis upon each image shifts as the sequence advances. It is only when the story is complete, you can stand back and see the whole. The fact that she resists the temptation to throw them at us in one go completes the effect. Ida drip feeds us the images, allowing them to circle in our consciousness and then to rejoin the proceeding images allowing us to 'build' the story. So, what is she hinting at? Perception, Sequence, Narrative? I think that may be different for everyone. And I would not be foolish enough to pigeon-hole her work. Aha, but still she hints...!! :)) On another note, she is a wonderfully warm and thoughtful Flickr friend. As a contact, you can expect thoughtful, witty and kind insight. She really is one of a kind. Glad to have 'met' you Ida. :) x
