A collection of images shot by Ian Owen. I’ve owned a camera since I was 13, when on a family holiday to Guernsey in the Channel Islands I was bought a Kodak Instamatic 177X126 Film Camera as a birthday present. Anyone remember the plug in flash cubes?

These days I shoot with a Canon 6D, L lenses or an iPhone Pro 11 MAX and of course Lee filters, where would we be without Lee Filters?

In 2011, I decided to improve my photography and set about trying to achieve a Licentatiateship with the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS). It’s a difficult task, you have to present 10 images that are not only technically flawless but form a cohesive balanced panel when next to each other. I’d recommend the challenge to anyone trying to improve their shots. In 2011 I intended Focus at the Birmingham NEC to be awarded with my LRPS.

To help me in my quest to become a better photographer I’ve attended a number of workshops with Doug Chinnery and a couple with both Doug & Antony Spencer (Landscape Photographer of the Year 2010). On the later workshop I came away knowing that I want to create a body of work showing the power, movement and calmness of the sea.

I hope you like looking at the images I’ve created and would love you to hear your comments good or bad.

Many Thanks

Ian Owen
