Jeff is a minimalist supreme. He does not post often, but when he does... ah! My great inspiration...

I always enjoy coming back to Jeff's stream. It's such a pleasure to look at his pics, which are obviously a big influence on my own work. I only wish, that Jeff would do more of his brilliant, brilliant stuff. The way he uses space around the scenes he observes is just perfect.

Ever since I was first fortunate enough to stumble upon Jeff's sublime images here on flickr I have been never less than awed & inspired by the deep underlying beauty he finds in the everyday. It is a quest that I share with him when I wander with my lens, failing mostly, but loving the journey always. On days like to-day (it's raining here, dull & overcast) when my creative juices are almost drained, just a short excursion through Jeff's magnificent photostream makes me want to go straight out there into the rain & try again...

This quote got me thinking about the body of work of iamnotanumber8885. His photos tell stories; yet other than a title, he leaves the viewer to fill in the dialog. Read the comments on any photo in this stream and you will see that each person brings to the shots his own interpretation. Not every photographer's work has universal appeal, but every shot in this stream does -- therein lies the charm and the artistry. Bravo, dear J!

He is also a source of constant inspiration ! Im not good at writing testimonials and rarely write one, but I had to mention how thrilled I am to have found Jeff on Flickr and to have him as a friend.

Jeff does not know photography. He does something else. Never ever ask him to take your portrait. Your size will be 0.8885% of the frame size. Everyone envies Jeff. Me too.

It began when I looked at his Minimalist Picture sometime ago. Start from that day, some thing work inside my mind. Enjoying so much of his creative work. And inspiring so much with what he did. Thanks Jeff, for being my inspirator, my mentor & my friend. Hope I will see you one day. God bless you

As Jeff’s work is minimalist in style I shall keep this short – his inspiration is so great that I very often look around whilst driving my car and think – Jeff would like this. Not been safe enough for me to stop the car yet to take that Jeff style shot – but one day.

Search no further! The best minimalist work you're going to find in Flickr belongs to iamnotanumber8885's stream. Period. You'll be amazed.

April 5, 2008

Not any number. I won't come back on his gifted eye for minimalism as so many people have emphasized this perfectly but I will just say he's got his way with colours and that his work is very coherent and compelling with a softness that delights our eyes.

January 5, 2008

Master of minimalism, connoisseur of composition, numero uno of negative space, and proud purveyor of priceless puns!. Ok, enough alliteration perhaps!! All in all - bloody brilliant! (Sorry couldn't help myself).

Be prepared to be carried away on a rollercoaster of pictures you could easily see in 2 seconds, but will usually take 5 hours. And Enjoy it All, for that's entertainment. In a Grand way.

Equally an artist and a photographer, Jeff's photos are instantly recognisable. Indeed, I have noticed his influence sprinkled throughout Flickr streams, always with a reference to his work as an inspiration. This alone is an indication of a great artist in the making. He has as much talent as encouragement for others to explore their unique potential, and thus he is a highly valued and treasured contact for many Flickr members. More importantly however, he is very good at spelling.

If I can discard envy, jealousy and hatred for just a minute I'd like to say that Jeff's images(damn him!!!)are some of my favourites here on Flickr. Every pic is unique, innovative, imaginative, creative and most of all interesting.......Damn again!!!............ He must have a very intelligent camera to do all this for him!!!!. Anyway,,,,,,,,,,what was I saying? Oh yes some of my favourites are "Now it's time to say Goodnight"(with tree),........."Moonwatcher"(treeless) and the superlative "Life without Ted"(who gives a damn whether there are trees in it.............it is that good!!). Please ,Please, Please go and look at Jeff's photostream.........it will probably make you throw your damn camera away......it doesn't get any better than this. I received no payment for this testimonial.........I did it of my own volition and I am of sound mind.

Jeff, Jeff, Jeff.. I could say that his work bursts with a signature style and originality that is easily recognizable and gets a tremendous response, but you folks already know that. Jeff brings a ton of life, energy, color, and wit into his photos, many of them sprinkled with doses of the surreal. What would otherwise be a picture of clouds in the sky and would evoke a "Nice clouds!" response, turns into clouds with a pair of feet and stilettos. The viewer is caught off-guard with Jeff's visual tickles, and then pulled in by the humor, colo(u)r, and warmth that radiates from this stream. Jeff claims he's not number 8885, but we all know better... and wouldn't want it any other way :)
