I've loved photography since high school, but it had always been a hobby of opportunity (whenever it was convenient), unlike my other hobbies that I make time for.

I've been a film guy ever since I took my first roll of black and white, which explains why it took me forever to get a digital camera. Once I did get a digital (a Canon Powershot G2) I loved the LCD panel because I believe the instant feedback made me a better photographer, but for some reason digital also sucked the joy out of photography for me.

My Horizon Kompakt, a panoramic film camera, revived my love of photography. Not just film, but all photography so I'm taking more pictures now than when I was forced to in photography class.

I love both black and white and color depending on the usage. Architecture and women are my favorite subjects to look at. I also love pictures with mood or that tell a story. Obviously what I like and what I do can be two different things.

I've spent practically my entire photographic life in the standard 35mm format so I like to see panoramic and square formats. I'm also somewhat of an escapist so fisheye and swing lens panoramic lens distortion and infrared photography suits me.

I tend to try to take "serious" shots with film (more often than not now) and digital, but I'll take any stupid snapshot with Polaroid film.
