A hidden Secret.

Calm.

They found her between the sticks and stones.

A little innocent package of flesh and bones.

Her roots sunk deep into the earth,

Her mouth wide open, eyes cast towards the sky.

Awaiting for the rain clouds to pass by.

Her tightly clenched hands laid quietly upon her hunger starved belly.

They said:

- "End of December."

She replied:

- "January!"

The snowflakes fell with such brilliance.

Gleaming ice stars reflecting the sun.

A snowflake fell in each of her eyes.

-"Can you see now child?"

They said as she wrestled with her lashes for a spark of sunshine.

But her voice muted by the calls of angels...
