Huw is an enthusiastic, sociable, articulate and hard working 29 year old from the South Wales Valleys. He grew up through state schools and tertiary colleges and went on to University. He studied Astronomy and Geology for 2 years before majoring and graduating with a degree in Astronomy and Space Science. Having spent 7 years communicating science and having presented countless Planetarium shows and hundreds and hundreds of science shows, he now runs his own Science Communication Business. For his efforts in communicating Astronomy to the public, Huw was made a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society. However his love for sport and adventure mixed with a passion for science has led him to looking into what science we can learn from extreme sports and big expeditions. He is now looking for ways to mix science and adventure like the field scientists and explorers of old. Huw has presented on TV shows, Radio and through years of live shows and workshops and has presented with translators in Arabic, Cantonese and Swiss.

Huw enjoys most sports; he is an avid adventurer and life long athlete. He has played club level Badminton, Squash, Football, Basketball and Rugby. Nowadays he finds himself more at home in the mountains, mountaineering, rock climbing and snowboarding, though surfing in the summer is always a must. Huw has started to broaden his sporting horizons by taking up slacklining and becoming a trained riverboarder. He is also starting to build his Leading repertoire being Nav trained, CWA and SPA trained and Summer ML planned for May 2013 along with an array of other courses such as powerboat and rifle training.
