These are the countries I've been to. The map is a bit misleading - all I ever did in Russia was spend a few very cold hours in Moscow in Dec 1991. And I did once spend a couple of days in Hong Kong but I am not claiming the whole of China on the strength of it.

My Life in Cameras

I have been interested in photography from an early age. The first camera I used was a Kodak Brownie No. 2 box camera which my father had used in the 1930s. I also used his Kodak 620 folding bellows camera and made sepia contact prints on P.O.P paper in our bathroom. In 1963 , in Durham, I bought a secondhand Agfa Parat half-frame which had an excellent lens. I used it to take hundreds of colour slides throughout the 60s and 70s. I sold it in India in 1992 (see www.flickr.com/photos/51609188@N00/2060248344/)). Meanwhile, in 1979 I had bought a Pentax K1000 SLR in Edinburgh which I used until it was stolen by burglars in Ireland in 1990. I replaced it with a second-hand Praktika SLR which I eventually gave to a charity shop in Hove in 2002. By this time I was using a Pentax PC-550 (bought in Dublin) which I still have (it took poor quality photos). I am now using a Canon Digital IXUS 400 and a new era of photography has begun.
