I've been a more or less enthusiastic photographer going back to something like 1980 when I bought my first SLR: a Pentax ME Super. Around 1990, that was replaced with a (slightly used) Nikon F3, which accounts for most of the boxes of slides and prints around the house today. In 2003 I bought my first digital camera: A Nikon D70. This was like some magically modernized version of the F3--autofocus, multiple metering modes, etc--and it has been the source of a great deal of enjoyment for the last four years. True to the four-years-old-is-pretty-ancient-for-a-DSLR trend, it was replaced by a D300 not too long ago.

I live in Fauquier County, Virginia--a really nice part of the world just beyond the western edge of the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This is Virginia Horse Country and horse farms, horse races and shows, foxes, deer, hawks, eagles and the like are fairly close to hand if you have a bit of patience and like to get outside.

I hope you enjoy some of my pictures. Thanks for looking!
