I've always loved taking photographs but I'm brand new to digital photography. I've just upgraded from a Canon G10 to a Nikon D5000 with a Tamron 70-300mm lens as I'm particularly interested in wildlife photography and hope to get some good close-up shots. I live in beautiful Northumberland where there is an abundance of wildlife. I'll be ecstatic if I manage to capture decent shots of my two favourites - fox and badger.

I also love the English Lake District and visit at least twice a year. I'd really like to retire there in a few years time. I'm lucky enough to have some good friends who are excellent photographers and have the patience to pass on their expertise and knowledge to me. I'm really looking forward to sharing my best shots on Flickr and looking at other members achievments.
