I'm a birder, or rather; a bird-photographer-wannabee...
My main equipment is a Canon 20D with a 300/4,0LisUsm-lens, and Hummingbirds are always my main target! Having said that, you'll see that I'm deep into butterflies and moths as well.
I also have a Canon 350D with a 17-55mm lens that I sometimes bother to get out of the camera bag to take what I call "Social photos". That means almost anything that doesn't feature a bird.
As time has passed since I started this site, new equipment has been added. The 20D and 350D are now put to half-rest, reduced to backup and social cameras. Now working as A-unit is a 40D, mounted with the old faithful 300/4,0.
As my Moth Fever has reached new hights I bought a 60 mm macro, mounted on a 400D. I tend to use its inbuilt flash when documenting my UV-lamp visitors.
The years passed, the 20D, 40D and 350D and the old 300/4,0 was sold. The little sum I got for them was the starting fund for a 50D and a 7D, with a brand new 300/4,0. Then, after a year or so, some technical problem of very expensive nature, slowly rendered the 50D useless and it got replaced by a 600D as backup/macro unit. The A-unit being the 7D/300mm,
I've also aquired a vidcam some years ago, and have a YouTube-account where I post my birding videos. My user name there is Hummingbirder1.
Photos taken before the digital era (that started in April 2004) has been scanned from negatives (REALLY grainy) and slides with a Nikon Coolscan 4000.
I started posting on Flickr April 18 2007.

Testimonials
Pia told a lie in her profile she said she is a wannabee photographer. That's not true she is a great photographer and birder. She is also one of life's great enthusiasts always ready to help and give encouragement. This is a great big thank you from Keith.
Thanks for all the comments and favs Pia. It is rare to get so many meaningful comments on Flickr as you just gave me. Your photos of birds from all over the world are amazing and I am excited to make you a contact and friend. I hope to view many more awesome shots in your photostream.
Your world gallery of Hummingbirds is a real treat. The poor Black-chinned at my feeder is looking alittle drab today after going thru your South and Central American photos
Thoroughly enjoy your bird pictures, especially your hummingbirds. Thanks for sharing.
