The Humane Society of Jefferson County is a small privately run non-profit shelter located in Jefferson, Wisconsin. We have been fulfilling our mission to care and provide for the lost, homeless, neglected, and abused animals of Jefferson County since 1922. Each year over 1,500 animals of all shapes and sizes are cared for in our shelter, including dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, birds, and small animals. Our staff puts forth its greatest effort to reunite owners with lost pets and to facilitate adoptions. There is no time limit on how long healthy, adoptable animals may remain with us as they await their own adoption day.
