I'm a retired teacher. I collect antique motor scooters and my wife and I travel a lot. Retirement is the best job I ever had.

I have no need to study history. I was there.

I guess I need to explain that map. It shows, in red, all of the states that I have visited, and since I have visited all 50 states, it makes a very boring map. I was recently trying to think of a large city in the US that I haven't visited. The only one that came to mind was Dallas. I need to fix that next summer. None of this is surprising, considering that I have been traveling for about three quarters of a century.

I often use longitude and latitude to determine the extent of my travels. I live at 36 degrees North and 84 degrees West. In Italy recently I was 14 degrees 30 minutes East of the Prime Meridian. I have been west to the Na Pali cliffs in Kauai (Hawaii) which is 159 degrees West longitude. In Alaska, I reached 62 degrees north of the equator. On a trip through the Panama Canal, I sailed around the bottom of Mexico to just 6 degrees north of the equator.

Other than the states on the map, my wife and I have visted a few countries:

Canana, Mexico, Hondurus, Belize Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Bahamian Republic, most of the island nations in the Caribbean, England, Wales, France, Belgium, Italy.

We have also visited American posessions such as Puerto Rico and the USVI.

Search my photos. I did, and I came up with 160 pictures tagged "Cushman." I found 71 pictures tagged "Bug" and not a single one involved insects. My searches found 175 "Car" pictures, 32 Vespa pictures, 86 cruise pictures, 101 antique pictures, 16 tractor pictures, and even 10 topless pictures. (cars, usually)

Today, Feb. 9, 2010, I scrolled down through a page of my photostream, and found it dominated by transportation. There was a cruise ship and a canoe, a bicycle, some motor scooters, a mini-bike, cars,and trucks. If I had checked a few more pages I know I would have seen trains, tractors, and motorcycles. But I also have people pictures, and interesting places.

So search my photostream for whatever interests you. It might be there.
