Kathy is one of the loveliest people I've 'met' on Flickr. She's also a very talented photographer, with a gift for capturing beauty. She doesn't rely on editing techniques to produce something special - it comes straight out of her camera! She makes me smile every time she leaves a comment, or uploads one of her wonderful photos. I'm very happy to have her as a 'Flickr friend'.

I have a friend who often says “Oh, by the way, thanks for the heads up!” She is referring to my habit of forgetting to pre-warn her of those key, important, quirky facts about a person BEFORE I actually introduce her to them (Examples of this might be, “the young person she is with is her partner, not her son” or “Just so that you know, this woman has an exceedingly excessive amount of facial hair, so try not to stare” etc, etc…). I can only assume that since you are here, reading this, that you, too, are looking to me to give you that ‘heads up’ about Kathy (aka hotes trinkets). When I think of Kathy, I find myself thinking of my most beloved of childhood novels, ‘Anne of Green Gables’. I find myself comparing the two happy, girlish, outdoorsy, day dreamy, fun-loving characters. It is true. Kathy does have red hair, as does Anne. However, I’m pretty sure that, unlike Anne, the only part of Kathy that is dyed green is her thumb! All you need to do is go for a stroll through her marvelous flower photos to see the dedication and true passion that Kathy executes towards her magnificent gardens. Although she still hopes that a fairy will loft in among her bountiful blooms some warm evening, she is content to entertain herself in playing host to scores of butterflies and other fluttery friends. And, as gentle as her true nature is, captures them only by camera to share with all her other visitors. Another welcome habitant of Kathy’s garden is her young grandson, the darling Mr. P. Just like the story book Anne, Kathy’s gratefulness and love for her ‘family’ is evident in every page of her stream. If I was to try to sum up hotes trinkets, I would say that although I have only known her a very short while, I consider her among my dearest and truest of Flickr friends, or as Anne would call it, a ‘bosom friend’. She is a ‘real’ person who leaves ‘real’ comments and not just awards without words. She is as dedicated to her friends as she is to her family and home. I am so very grateful to call her my Flickr friend. So, as far as the ‘heads up’… if you are looking for the literal sense, you needn’t look for slates being slung at your head, as she assures me she is of the even-tempered type of red head (whatever THAT means! lol) and so far, I have seen nothing to dispute that claim. If there WAS to be a heads up, it would be as in ‘look out’, because given her wonderful growth in just a few short months, there is definitely no holding this Lady’s talents back!
