G'Day mate,

I am from Australia. I went to Central America and found this beautiful place in Rio Dulce, Guatemala. When I found it, the house was used as a holiday home, but the docks were good and the structure of the house is concrete, so there were great possibilities for the property.

I being a builder saw the potential, not the problems. I said, "No problem mate, with a lot of hard work and improvements to the overall property and using the proper materials, I could have a hotel in paradise.

Sounded pretty good!

So I sold my boat and moved to Guatemala and bought the place. What better way to start out a new life, right?

Well after 6 years of backbreaking labor in a third world country where nothing happens today, everything is manana, and manana does not mean tomorrow it just means not today, I now have a sucessful Hoel and restaurante, but I am still building. At the moment I am adding more bungalos.

I opened on the 7th December 2008 and believe it or not we've have been fortunate enough to meet very amazing people and have great discussions and laughter with all our guests.

I am bilding more bungalos at the moment and have moved out of the third floor in order to add more rooms and built a new house for me and my wife Graciela.

We now have fine Mexican Food (Las Mexicanas Restaurante) and fine Austrailian fare as well.
