Perth Theatre + Perth Concert Hall

Horsecross is the new organisation set up to manage Perth Theatre and the new Perth Concert Hall which opened its doors in September 2005.

Our mission is to create a buzz about Perth!

We have a crucial part to play in the regeneration of Perth – a city that aims to be one of Europe’s most dynamic small cities.

Our 3 areas of work are culture, conferences and community.

We were delighted in 2005 to be commended for Scottish Enterprise’s Dynamic Place Awards and in 2006, won Scottish Enterprise Tayside’s Enterprise’s Business in the Community Award.

Our cultural programme focuses on drama, music and new media art. We also present some dance and comedy.

Perth Theatre is one of Scotland’s oldest theatres with an enchanting Edwardian auditorium. Our season is a mix of quality Perth productions, co-productions with Scottish and international companies, and visiting work.

The community is also at the heart of the business activity of Horsecross. We have a devoted community team enabling the organisation to run projects in schools and community settings right across Perthshire. We also have an ambitious youth theatre with 155 members, the highest membership in the history of Perth Theatre.

The Fair City also now boasts Scotland’s newest music and arts venue, Perth Concert Hall. At the concert hall, there’s everything from rock and pop acts, classical concerts, big bands, through to traditional acoustic and roots music. In addition, there are hugely popular lunchtime concerts and talks, and weekend workshops for children and families.

There’s also the pioneering Threshold new media digital artspace in the concert hall. With an impressive bank of 22 screens, sophisticated sound system and giant interactive projection walls, Threshold adds a whole new dimension to concert going.

In addition to superb music, theatre and digital art, Horsecross also offers a place to wine and dine with Redrooms restaurant at Perth Theatre and Threshold café bar at the concert hall.

We are a charitable organisation. Our income comes from ticket sales, Scottish Arts Council, Perth & Kinross Council and through a programme of fundraising from trusts and other organisations.
