I'm a geologist by education (BA from CU, Boulder) and have worked in the fields of ground water sourcing and development, uranium exploration, and vertebrate paleontology. I'm also a fairly seasoned outdoorsman and a commercially rated pilot with about 3000 flight hours I've logged mostly as a "bush" pilot in the southwestern USA desert back country. I play the guitar and banjo as well as build them, and have also owned and operated a shop specializing in high end furniture and architectural woodworking.
