I've been serious about my photography since trading a kayak for my first Pentax Spotmatic camera in 1968. In the early 1980's I attended the Colorado Institute of Art in photography, and worked for a few years as a commercial product photographer. I found photography a very difficult way to make a full-time living. I encountered a lot of art directors who wanted the job yesterday, at half of what it was worth, saying "Oh, but it will look so-o-o good in your portfolio!"
Currently, I am a successful psychotherapist in private practice, and work as a photographer as a side line enjoying the luxury of not having to do photography to make the bills. And working as a therapist allows me the flexibility to travel internationally, as my favorite subjects are ethnic people around the world. Photographically, however every subject is interesting to me from underwater, to macro, to wildlife.
I regularly have my work shown around Denver, and shoot the occasional wedding, portrait or event. I love using Photoshop & Lightroom, including photo Restoration and composing "scrapbook" collections.
