HolmesBartonHolmes is actually two people.

Holmes and BartonHolmes met in high school, hung out in the darkroom of their photography class together, and cruised around the city looking for the perfect shot and good onion rings.

We've since traded D-76 and endless canisters of Ilford for megapixels, but we still cruise around looking for perfect shots and good onion rings. Somewhere along the way, we got married, and acquired several more cameras and two dogs. And sometimes we still use Ilford.

We're both lucky enough to do what we love, and to have our careers intersect with our love of photography.

BartonHolmes takes photos to remember stuff, to capture particular moments in time, or just because something looked really cool and the light was right.

Holmes has always had a knack for composition, and takes great care over putting together photos and tweaking them both on the camera and later. Plus, he hogs the tripod. If you like a photo that was taken at night with great illumination, chances are that's one of his.

We encourage each other, egg each other on, and make up silly photo contests....the other night, we gave each other a direction to drive in, a time to be back, and the mandate to find stuff to photo ("Go East past the Interstate, and be back by 10!"). The results of all of this driving around and eating onion rings are posted here for your enjoyment. Hope you like it as much as we do.

I cant go a day without faving one or more of HolmesBartonHolmes' photos. Visiting these pictures is like re-acquainting myself with my own country. In addition to the great pictures, HBH are two of the nicest, friendliest and funniest people I've met through Flickr.
