Holland Fabric House
Drag to set position!
Hi, my name is Noor. I have a son who is now 7 years old. My household further includes a large hairy dog (appropriately named Bear) and a rabbit. I finished my PhD-degree in Classical Archaeology from the University of Leiden (the Netherlands) in February 2009, specialising in the architectural and social history of houses in Pompeii, the famous (pre)Roman town near Naples, Italy. During the time of my studies, I was lucky enough to live in France, England and Italy.
During the years I was doing my PhD research, I also co-owned a bead shop, which I set up together with my mum in 2000 in the historical Dutch town of Delft. In our shop, we helped people create their own, unique and personal jewelry from a large selection of beads in all shapes and sizes. The big table in the centre of the shop became a popular place for lots of women (and the occasional man) of all ages, to sit down and have a creative afternoon (or day, as some people even brought their own packed lunch!). My mum and I ran this shop for six years before selling it on, as we were both ready for new things...
I started my new bussiness in 2008: www.hollandfabrichouse.com. This web shop offers a selection of the most catchy, colourful and yummy fabrics from a wide range of international designers, combined with ribbons to match. The website is illustrated with lots of handmade inspirational examples of interior decoration projects and accessories for big and little people.
