The nice thing about Flickr is that you get shown the world through the eyes of many interesting people. You can build contacts around the world, with people who have the same interests as you and you would have never met them in real life. For this I am grateful to Flickr.

Initially, I used Flickr just to exchange some photos with friends.

One day I received an email from Emma Williams, asking whether she can use one of my pictures in the online Guide Schmap. This was an honor for me and so I began to take care about my photographs. If you only upload selected pictures, the own photo stream will become something special. And I admit that it has become a little addictive.

Now of course I wanted that many people can see my photos and write their comments. I began to upload the photos in any group pool: “Post your picture here and comment on three.” In this way, I have seen many awesome pictures and greatly benefited from it. If I liked a photo stream, I have tried to incorporate those in my contact list or even better as a "friend". At first I thought, the more contacts, the more pictures will be appreciated.

I quickly found out that Flickr costs a lot of time. Time I'm actually not available to spend.

So if you like one or two of my photos, I hope that you write your ideas about it and I'm sure I'll find one or more beautiful photos in your stream that are worth to comment. That means I keep the amount of my contacts very low.

But if you are without a face, you will be blocked! And you will be blocked if you send me fotos via email that I should comment.

Thanks for your interest!

Andreas
