-hndrk- is, simply, one of the most fascinating photographers I have ever run across on flickr. He combines words and images in a way that few others do. Anecdotes and observations meld with images filtered through a very human mind to form a creative body of work that is both accessible and amazing. Hendrik’s careful and incisive observations rove over genres, break ‘rules’ and ask questions few others even notice need asking. An exploration of his images and words should be required for all who would ‘work’ in digital imagery. He is a catalyst, always generating discussion and conversation among both his fiercely loyal following and those he is meeting for the first time. Those of us who are lucky enough to have him as a contact know that he follows us carefully and intelligently, offering advice, an occasional critique and a constant stream of support – he is the perfect ‘contact’. I am a better photographer for having known him; I am a better digital citizen for having known him. I am proud to count him as my friend. Do yourself a favour and explore his stream – you won’t be disappointed.

It was a "hold on, I stumbled across something here" moment. Within a few clicks my favourites page looked like his portfolio! His best set?
