Recently (spring 2012) I came upon a picture from Iceland that Helga had posted. That evening my wife and I looked trough a considerable amount of her photos in amazement. Never before had i seen anyone capture the beauty of Iceland, or landscape, as she had. I visited Iceland in 1997 on my way to Sweden and was fascinated of the stark, but intensely beautiful landscape. Helgas pictures has brought on an intense urge to go back and explore. Oops - they are not "pictures' - each photograph is an experience in itself. Iceland truly has some phenomenal assets, including the incredibly photogenic scenery, but also Helga and Volundur as ambassadors, who make people from far away, like me, want to visit Iceland. Helga is a true stand out among the many unique styles of digital photography I that I can recognize as the "Icelandic Style" :)). She has an excellent way of capturing and nurturing the fantasy effect her countryside has on folks like myself not from Iceland. It's NOT a shock that she has images in Icelandic tourism ads. That whole "Viking Saga" conquering the hard, dark elemental God's of the Northern Worlds feeling. A silly foreigner like myself just eats it all up of course, lol. Helga seems to have no plateau on creativity and equipment either. Many of her images invoke magic for certain. She's another flickrite we all hope stays with us for some time.

How she can manage to turn a seemingly ordinary sheet of cloth into an image of an angel/wolf, I'll never know. But I do know this: She creates beautiful and heart-stirring imagery.
