I am 28 years old. I've lived in Tromsø, Norway most my life.

I bought/got my first DSLR as a birthday present from my girlfriend for my 27th birthday, a used Canon 30D. A few months later I bought a Sigma 10-20 and never looked back. I have read probably thousands of pages about photography since that day, and likewise taken several thousand images. I recently upgraded to a used Canon EOS 5D and a Canon EF 17-40 f/4L. That is probably my best decision yet. Now the processing of the images takes the back seat and I can focus on the image itself, not how to get it sharp.

I have been passionate about photography a long time. But I never got around buying my own camera after I got fed up developing films from my old film slr. The spark came the first week of hunting 2008, specifically September 12 at around noon. Sitting 1000 meters above sea level and looking over a SPECTACULAR valley thinking "man, I wish I had Arild's (Überfisher here on Flickr) 10-20 now". That made me almost obsessed with getting my own digital SLR. And finally I nagged so much that my girlfriend agreed to let me buy the 30D as a present to myself from her. The rest is, as they say, history. As I'm writing this I have just finished packing for the first week of hunting 2009. Fot the first time with a proper camera. I actually look more forward to getting some shots than I do to the hunting itself.
