There is no question about it: Hjallii has a strongly personal style, that is present throughout his photostream. He is a master of light and shadows and has a strong eye for composition and DoF. His use of muted colours and black and white creates a sense of alienation and sometimes mystery. Through his choice of subject matter he sometimes brings the most insignificant of objects to life; at other times he treats us to the rugged and deserted landscapes of Iceland. There is also a sense of searching in his pictures. How to see this world around us, where to look? What is significant and what isn't? Or maybe it is just the search for his ultimate style. I wonder where Hjallii is going with this art of photography, it is certainly an exciting journey and it is a pleasure to be part of it by following his stream as his contact. One wonders about the person behind the pictures. Even though you can see his self portraits, you cannot see his thoughts. It is like this picture where he hides behind a pillow and you see just the eyes; there are a lot of questions, just like with his pictures, that so rarely help us with a title. It is up to the viewer to think whatever he wants :-)
