First, let me tell you about the screen name I use: highnoon

Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

A few years ago I was looking for a name to call my leatherwork. I wanted something catchy. Something that would stick out. I was reading my Bible one day, and came across the above scripture. I began thinking after I read that scripture..... "it's gonna be highnoon there all the time"!

And so it was...... the beginning of my online screen name, as well as my leatherwork. I called my leatherwork Highnoonhunter Leather Works. And started using the screen name: highnoonhunter, and as of late, I have shortened it to highnoon on some forums and websites.

So............... now that we've got that out of the way:

My name is Bobby Ratliff. I have one son, Bobby Anthony Ratliff.

I grew up at Slate Creek. I community near Grundy Virginia in Buchanan County.

My favorite quote:

But first, before you can blow the bugle horn, or follow the hounds, you must be content to chase the woodpecker.

~Maurice Thompson-1878~

My interests:

I enjoy my family. I like to camp, and hunt, and fish. I love archery... especially shooting my longbows. I don't get to hunt, fish, or shoot my bow much but the desire is still there at times. I love riding my fatbike and my motorcycle!

I spend most my time lately, making archery leather items. It's a fun hobby, but can get overwhelming, so I mostly only do it during the winter time when things are boring and too cold to get outside.

In the past, I loved to get out in the mountains and dig wild herbs...... Ginseng, Bloodroot, Yellow Root, Cohosh, etc.,

I love singing and playing music most of all. I'm not a really great singing, nor musician, but I try hard! LOL!

I've Been building and playing Appalachian Dulcimers since 2006. I play melody/drone/fingerdance style mostly, with some noter drone playing on occasion. I enjoy singing and playing the dulcimer, tenor guitar, and playing the tambourine. I especially like the older Gospel and Folk songs. My dulcimer playing consists mostly of playing diatonic fretted dulcimers, in whatever tuning suits the need. DAA, DAC, EBA, etc. I mostly sing and play old time Gospel and/or folk songs, and enjoy messing around with Audacity and recording.

And so there you have it.

highnoon.........
