Well, I’ve been on here for a year now. Still feel like a newbie though I have learned a lot. But lots further to go. There are lots of incredibly talented folks on this site. Very inspirational.

A Flickr newbie here. Don’t really know what I am doing on here yet but I love looking at all the fabulous work of others.

About two decades ago, back when slide film was a thing, I was a photography enthusiast.

Back then I got to where I could at least occasionally make Velvia slides come out like I wanted.

But it eventually became clear to me that photography was going digital and as I spent my work days sitting in front of a computer screen, doing more of that for a hobby didn't appeal much and I drifted out of photography and into other things.

Now I'm retired and trying to learn more about all the nifty new things that people are doing now that weren’t an option back when Velvia was my thing.
