I have been taking photos since I was about 9 years old. I was given a cheap plastic film camera for my birthday.

My Dad was always taking photos and I guess he passed that on to me.

I kept his old Box Brownie for ages.

Since then I've had a few cameras; from Kodak Instamatics and Polaroids, to my trusty Pentax K1000.

When digital cameras became more convenient than film, I went hunting for a compact camera with a wide angle lens and found the Canon Powershot S60. I've really enjoyed that camera.

My latest cameras are a Canon Powershot A495 and the Canon Powershot SX40HS.

I started to learn about the technical skills of photography when I used the Pentax K1000 but with digital point and shoot, I've focused on just that.

I'm becoming interested in learning more technical skills now.

I see pictures in life, all around me, and if I have a camera handy I make an attempt at capturing the vision.
