I'm the founder and director of WorkCycles, the city, utility and transport bicycle specialist based in Amsterdam. We design and build great bikes for daily use and ship them all over the world. On my somewhat dormant blog Bakfiets-en meer (means "cargo bikes and more") I write about all sorts of utility bike and urban cycling topics from the Amsterdam perspective. I try to keep it on the entertaining and slightly sarcastic side.

To say that I love bicycles would be an understatement of gargantuan proportions. My first memory is of riding in the baby seat behind my mom in NY. I worked in bike shops and around the US bike industry for some 20 years beginning when I was 12. I've raced, commuted on, toured on and did the groceries all manner of bikes through the years. I still do.
