Ahoj to everyone out there, I´m Henk Braaksma just moved to Heerhugowaard, Province of Noord-Holland, the Netherlands.
A ´73 model, half Frisian, born and raised in IJmuiden, a not at all pittoresque harbour town (Community of Velsen) in Noord-Holland. Happily married to my dear wife Mieke for almost twenty years now.
About me in short(ish):
German teacher at a high school since four years. Still part time in teachers college also.
Worked as a volunteer social counsellor and language school class assistant for integration courses and language buddy for the local refugee aid centre Inova of Alkmaar, had to stop due to lack of time.
And at my Youtube Channel;

Here's Lord Spencer, our little old Jack Russell, (15 09 2011) who has taken over!!! :-)
Happiness is being owned by a Jack Russel Terrier!
He has his own set:

This was my ´84 Mercedes 190E in Silberdistel green metallic. Had to sell her to save money for the teachers education.
Here's a link to my dear wife Mieke's photosteeam.

Allways interested in our favourite holliday countries: the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Luxembourg. (That's alphabetic, not any other order)
Interested as well in history in general, local (Northern Holland) and military history in particular.
Allso like old books, steam trains, (N)Ostalgia, old postcards, 78/45/33 RPM records, well a lot, as long as it is well made, not new and/or hip LOL
What´s more to say? I hope you take pleasure in looking at my pictures of modelcars, familly, dogs, and things I see and like. (which usually have wheels on the bottom side)
Allso have a look at some pics by my late dad aka Gruttepier on Flickr. (Gruttepier is a more or less mythological Frisian folk hero from the Middle Ages by the way)

BTW A group I started called East European modelcars, do look in!

Started another group on postcards with cars:
Found this counter on the web, and I do like my counters! LOL

My former Mercedes Benz 240TD 1978 in Milan Brown metallic. (bought in summer 2006, sold it autum '10) Really fantastic automobile, allways my dream to own one, but it became to rusty for my non existant skills on car restauration... But I'm happy to have owned my own German supercar for four years. Got me hooked on the threepointed star as well!

My ex Skoda 1000MB 1968 in burgundy red/cervena karmin , original colour was orangy red/oranz cervena. It was the version for export to the GDR, which differs slightly from the Czech or other export versions. It had the Swiss Oerlikon patent 'mountain gearbox'. Which has a very nice and light shift.
I Bought it in september 1995 in Arnstadt, Thuringen, and sold it summer 2011 to another club member of the Dutch Skoda Oldtimer Club, by the way. I owned and drove it for over fifteen years with a lot off pleasure! A sweet little car. Supposedly it still survives outside of Holland, since the registration number is no longer registered. If you own it now, I would love to hear from you!
My first car and caravan, a 1988 light green Skoda 105L and 1979 La Bohème camping car. They might still be out there somewehere.
Also had a 1986 Skoda Rapid Coupé in greenish white, A 1989 Skoda Favorit in light green more or less the same colour as my 105L, and a light blue 1961 Skoda Octavia. (original coulour being again light green!!)
...and my only automotive and biggest mistake ever: a VAZ Lada 2110 GLi 16V in Burgundy red metallic. Full options, but it must have been built the 2nd of May first thing in the morning...
So, I hope I have´nt bored you too much! :-)) Do enjoy my pics and feel free to comment, or mail if you like. I speak, Dutch, German and English, I have had French in high school for five years, but c'est un peu oublië... ;-)
If you want to use my pictures for your site, or publication, no problem, but do please credit my name along with the pictures!
