We bumped into each other eons ago on flickr.... yes, back when it used to be cool.... Something just clicked. I had no idea why..,, well, past the fact that she has awesome photography, so heartfelt, so emotional, so.... WOW! It was only after a period of time, I started to understand more about what made everything click... We're both old skool film photographers-- formally trained ones even! With CHEMICALS! OMG... and speaking for myself, a bit lost in the transition between film to digital, but by watching Kathy's stuff here, I was reminded that the old skool stuff never truly dies... you just build on top of that stuff. Her photos are SMOKIN! If you're new to photography art... take a moment and take in her art... it's bleeding edge, yo. She's not by any means a suburbian yuppie that bought a dSLR for her first foray into the world of photography. No way. no way.. she did everything from the beginning- the ways the masters did it... walking to school uphill (both ways) barefeet.. in snow up to her chest using a coconut and tinfoil as her first camera..... RESPECT.

K was always fun, popular, artistically energetic and loved by all. I feel very proud and happy to have her in my life, even though I have never met her personally, I feel deep in my heart that it will happen at any moment. There is nothing obvious or cliché about her work. It is completely original, and truly her own. We are lucky to share her journey with her... to be a witness to the evololution of this artist. Lastly, I would like to mention how brave Kitty is. I wish I had the balls to express myself in the ways she does. I'm in awe.
