My most important lifelong FRIEND is Jesus Christ. I loved the mission work we did with the Native Americans. I have enjoyed working with VBS and Good News Clubs (CEF) through the years. My husband, grown children, and grandson are precious to me. Also, a large extended family. I enjoy the hobby of genealogy. I'm an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of Siloam Springs Writers. Friends and family likely know that I did love to teach.
As I used to tell my students as a "Guest" (Sub) Teacher: I taught full time in: AZ, TX, NE, SD, Alaska, and OK, with multi-cultures: Navajo, Spanish, Sioux, Aleut, Cherokee. My knowledge of their languages is limited since they mostly spoke English. But I liked to tell the students here the way the Sioux men say hello is "How" and the way their Lakota ladies say "How are you feeling?" (instead of hello) is: "Dosh Kay Yay Oon Kaw Hay" (spelled phonetically here). Now that I've retired I can say I taught full time 27 years and part time 23 years making 50 years of teaching. I loved it.
