What does graffiti mean to me?

I guess Graffiti's appeal to me is its instant liberation, where the entire world is just one big canvas, where you can express yourself and this is like the kind of freedom that i wish all human beings could have, and yet is the privelidge of so few.

Theres the whole question of public space and who it belongs to and conflicts between capitalism and anarchy, the individual and the state and conflicting interests of individuals. With this comes age old arguments and discussions on liberty and society.

These things are all influences which draw me to graffiti, but primarily my reason for writing is personal. A way of conceptualising and actively shaping the world around myself and others.

I write Heaven because I wanted to construct a post modernist conception of bliss and indeed happiness. Moments are to be treasured and in the fleeting but brilliant moments of life where it all makes sense and all remains perfectly balanced, this is where the notion of heaven comes from.
