The tropical rainforests of Borneo are one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems on Earth. In February 2007, the governments of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Malaysia signed the Heart of Borneo (HoB) Declaration to protect an area of flora and fauna of more than 220,000 square kilometers, located in the centre of the island of Borneo and which borders all three countries.

By creating a network of protected areas, sustainably managed forests and leveraging the support of businesses, WWF’s aim is that the island’s natural treasures are sustainable used, well into the future.
