Hi I'm Marie and I'm a feltisan!

I started on my little Heartfelt Handmade journey back in 2007, when I began making personalized gifts for my fellow mama friends and their babies. It was a way to gift something completely original and handmade with love. I chose felt mostly because I couldn't use a sewing machine back then, I loved the colors it came in and the fact that it wouldn't fray. I was totally up for an easy crafty life.

After a year of using my friends and family as my testers, I opened up my Etsy shop and stitched my way through baby/toddler nap times and during the evenings when my babies were little ones. I even filled my head and notebooks up with ideas whilst nursing my youngest, who seemed to always want nursing, I have a lot of full notebooks.

Through the years my techniques have improved and my designs have become more detailed, all from a lot of practice and learning as I went along. I am completely self taught, in fact I detested my 'textiles' classes at school, who'd have thought I'd end up sewing for a living?!

These days I've made this my daily (and nightly - I'm a total crafting night owl) job. I make things that I like and also my daughters give me great info and inspo on what to make. I love anything whimsical and colorful and I'm open to ideas, custom orders are so much fun.
