I have been trying to capture the beauty and diversity of my surroundings on photos for some years now. In exploring nature with open eyes and sometimes off the beaten track, the amazing facets of this world unfold before you. If it is difficult to reach a specific destination, then more often than not, the effort is rewarded by unforgettable impressions.

Even though I'm proud to shoot a good photo every now and then, this is not my main motivation. Since memories tend to fade with time, photos provide a great means to relive long past impressions and experiences.

I admit that I am not prepared to spend hours waiting for the perfect light or incidence at the cost of restricting my holiday experience. So most of my photos are shot spontaneously, taking the scene and the light as it comes. Should it then turn out to be a nice photo, all the better.

Seit einigen Jahren versuche ich vor allem die schöne und vielfältige Natur auf Bildern festzuhalten. Es ist erstaunlich welche Vielfalt an Naturschönheiten diese Welt bietet, wenn man nur mit offenen Augen und manchmal auch abseits der Touristenströme unterwegs ist. Ist es beschwerlich ein Ziel zu erreichen, wird die Anstrengung fast immer durch fantastische Eindrücke belohnt.

Ich bin zwar stolz auch ab und an mal ein schönes Foto geschossen zu haben, aber das ist für mich nur ein Aspekt. Gerade weil Erinnerungen über die Jahre verblassen, sind Fotos ein tolles Mittel das Erlebte und Gesehene über die Zeit wieder lebendig und gegenwärtig erscheinen zu lassen.

Ich gestehe, dass ich nicht bereit bin stundenlang auf das perfekte Licht oder Ereignis zu warten und dabei mein Urlaubserlebnis einzuschränken. Daher entsteht jedes meiner Fotos meist zeitlich ungeplant. Wenn es dann auch noch ein schönes Foto wird, um so besser.
