Very many thanks to all who look and especially comment on my images which if you hadn't realised are also filed in 'albums' both as individual species and places seen. Have now posted some 17,000 images which is an average of approx 1,000 per year since I posted my first image. I try to post on a daily basis.

Early Retiree (now 8yrs and counting) and nature lover who has got hooked on getting photo's of his sightings! Great pleasure out of seeing and watching behavioural activity. Progressed to photography after wife bought me a Sony Bridge camera in 2007, bought first DSLR, again Sony, a couple of years later and now have mirrorless Sony SLT A77 (back from repair after dropping it) and an ILCA-A77 mkII and my new addition an A7Rmk4 with an array of Sony lenses including:

Prefer walking and stalking (the animals!) to sitting in a hide but sometimes these are the best /warmest places!

Everything I have taken is wild unless clearly stated otherwise. All are hand held shots unless I state use of tripod. I leave my EXIF info available to others so they can learn the same way that I did, by the mistakes (or best practice) of others! I'd much prefer to be out with my camera than editing (30 seconds is far too long in front of a computer image in my books although some are trying to convince me otherwise). Started taking RAW images and processing is now definitely taking longer.

It's a very rewarding and relaxing (and sometimes frustrating) way to spend your free time!

Apologies if I cannot find time to comment on everyone else's but like you I'd rather be outside photographing the wildlife. Hope you enjoy looking at my images as much as I enjoyed taking them!
