Semi pro. Was doing wedding/portrait until I made the change to "freelance" work while I build up my commercial portfolio and my artwork.
Here is an extensive list of my equipment. DPG members, if you see anything you might like to try out, just let me know!
*Shen Hao 4x5 field camera w/ 65mm, 90mm, 120mm, 210mm, and 360mm lenses (the 210mm is the 50mm equivalent in 35mm format) -- monocular eyepiece as well so you don't have to use a darkcloth to focus and compose. Also a polaroid film holder that I use with quickload 4x5 film (no more changing film in a darkbag!) I also have a couple of 120 roll film holders (6x9cm) that can be used instead of sheets.
*Horseman 4x5 view camera with all lensboards to hold all lenses listed above and extendable rail to 750mm, handmade (by students in the machine shop -- ugly, but effective) studio stand w/Majestic geared head.
*Nikon D700 with power grip, D200 with grip + Nikon 300 f4, Nikon 600 f4 manual focus, 80-200 2.8, NIkon 25-105mm, 1.4x converter, Tokina 12-24mm, Nikon 10.5mm, Tamron 180mm macro, lensbaby (the original), 50mm 1.4 MF,
Nikon D50 converted to infrared by LifePixel. *** SORRY, this one was sold, looking to get my of the D100 converted later.***
*Heavy duty carbon fiber Gitzo tripod (rated at 35lbs) with ball head, smaller (25#) carbon fiber Velbon tripod with pan/tilt head (I switch the ball head to each, really), smaller aluminum tripod with pistol grip head, large heavy duty aluminum tripod that will extend to more than 7 feet with gimbal type head for 600 f4. Bogen reticulated arm with super clamp, Panosaurus panoramic head.
Tamrac bag, plus 3 backpacks. One is one from eBay that I literally paid $0.26 (plus $11 s/h), the other is a LowePro Mountaineer Super Trekker -- big, nice, and still comfortable, the last is a Kata that I lovingly call the 'beetle' because it looks like one!
Cokin P-series (or equivalent) filter system with polarizer and graduated color series, plus deep red for b/w film.
*Nikon SB800 flash (2), "Ray flash" ring flash, Quantum Q-flash powered by Turbo battery, 3 Calumet travelight 750's (+ stands, radio slave firing units, reflectors, snoots, gels, grid spots, etc.), 2 30x36 (about) softbox units, variable aperture fresnel attachment, Innovatronix pure sine wave inverter for taking the lights on location
*Portable background hanging stands fitting up to 9 foot paper rolls or muslin/canvas, Bogen autopole system with free standing leg attachments
*Various background papers and materials.
*aluminum shooting table with frosted acrylic.
*Set of apertures micro-drilled through sheet tin for pinhole photography -- need some kind of camera body to use with them. Sizes, f-stops, optimum focal length, and exposure already calculated for each.
*Dual core pentium III, 2.3MHz CPU with 2 GB RAM, dual 250 GB hard drives, graphics card, wireless networking, firewire, CF/SD etc. card reader, lightscribe DVD RW. Dual monitor system (still CRT because of calibrating issues with LCDs,) Epson photo 2000P printer (pigment ink,) Epson perfection 4870 photo scanner (good for film up to 5x7 and reflective,) a 500 GB and a 1 TB external USB hard drive. Drobo 4TB 'raid' storage unit.
Wolverine 60GB CF compatible portable drive/viewer for backing up cards in the field.
