I am retired and heading fast for my three score years and ten. However, I love taking photos and have learned much in the two years I have been a member of the Flickr Community. I use mainly my DSLR Canon 400D with various lenses. I also have a Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ8, which I use if I want to carry around less weight. My favourite type of photos are macros and close-ups, and my favourite subjects are flowers, insects and general wildlife and natural life subjects. I rarely take portraits.

I would like to thank all my main contacts for the generous help and comments on my photos. I am happy to receive all comments, but prefer not to have a site's 'Great Shot' comment, with nothing further added. Personally, if I use these comments at all, I always add a further note.

I am very happy to be one of your contacts, but only if you are prepared to comment on my photos. I don't want to be your 2000th contact and never see your name appear again! I only add contacts to my list if I am interested in the subject matter. I always look at my contacts' photos and make comments on some of their latest uploads. Please do not take this badly. I just don't see the point in having contacts that you never get in touch with!

There's something rather special about our Gill - she's always ready with words of encouragement for us all, even when some of us are nowhere near as prolific in response to her own delightful images. An inspiration, not only on the subject of photography, but also on the subject of retirement, which for me can't come soon enough! Thanks for all your kind words Gill - they're much appreciated. Keep up the good work and keep enjoying life on both sides of the Channel!

Gill was one of the first persons I came across in the "Cambridge" pool when I joined Flickr five months ago. I have therefore seen her photography skills develop immensely over this short time. She tries different subjects and is always on the lookout for an interesting shot! I look foreward to further experimentation from her, especially in the area of our mutual interest: Cambridge!
