It's mainly about architecture, bits of buildings, public art, streetart, colour, abstract, black and white, engineering - and anything else that takes my eye!
Shape, form, and repetition are also important, as most definitely is post-processing!
I have been accused of 'software laziness' from an individual who believes most firmly that even in digital photography composition is the most important aspect of photography, and that you shouldn't use post-processing to enhance digital pictures. Not sure what planet he is from! Maybe it's a case of envy !!
Perhaps he should stick to conventional film photography rather than digital and do his best not to carry post-processing into the dark room!
I did say to him once that my clients are more than happy with what I produce for them - it's the end product they are interested in, not how I get there!
Freed from the constraints of absolute image composition before shooting and trusting 'my eye' to tell me what's good has been as key to my photography as it also is to my graphic and abstract art.
My images do contain people usually as a small but important addition, although I do not set out to include people in my images often when they do appear they offer a humanizing aspect and become part of the scene.
I do take a lot of people pics in a different incarnation and they are not included in this photo-stream. I make no reference to them in this Flickr account as the whole purpose of 'people' pics is different to what added to Flickr.
Sheffield has, and still does offer a large variety of settings and has a vibrant creative arts community that form part of my enjoyment of the city and its environs.
How I wish that digital photography had been around when I arrived in Sheffield in 1990 as the city has dramatically changed especially between 1990 and the introduction of affordable digital around 2000.
I am currently revisiting areas where I have shot before mainly to use my 10-20mm lens, but also to record the changing cityscape.
Living in Sheffield and photographing Sheffield still sit high on my list of passions, and I can't see that changing any time soon!
Keep snapping!

Andy has the eye. That's his secret. Whether looking at Urban or Rural scenes he observes that which is beautiful or funny, or needs to be criticized, and he captures it with his camera. It is a privelige to look at his pictures and sometimes see the world that Harry Halibut seems to see all the time.
