I learned from my mother that to laugh a lot is better than any medicine. She only had to walk into a room and it was immediately full of laughter. I have discovered that photography is also an excellent therapy. On my frequent walks it helps me look for and see the delights in nature around us and count my blessings. I was brought up to recognise various trees, plants and birds etc but I'm no expert on that, I just love to see things when I spot them. Unfortunately I don't have a good zoom on my new camera, maybe Santa will help out..... But I am blessed to live near forests and woodlands in a city which has parks, lakes and rivers, and the sea.
More recently I have realised how much beauty is also to be found in the urban areas if only we will look with observant eyes. The lights, the reflections, the amazing geometric lines and shapes, the multicultural diversity, the hidden delights of everyday life waiting to be discovered. A camera helps record all these observations. I have made contact with Flickr people who do this so much better than I and their photos are an inspiration, thank you to them.
My family are very important to me, the children and grandchildren keep me going with tales of their activities and antics. My husband and many friends are good to me and supportive. I have a little faith in a big God and He keeps me strong.
Well, that's me. I hope you enjoy looking at my photos, comments always welcome. I don't mind if people copy them but to ask first is considered good manners.
