Working in the Information Technology business since 1969 and the last 15 years of my working life at the Dutch Defence organization as an ICT manager I like to get some breath by doing something completely different during my time off. That different is working with ancient photographic processes like the Gumprint, and most of the *types which exist. That takes a lot of time and forces me to slow down (de-hurry).

Gumprinting I learned attending a course with Kees Brandenburg in Middelburg (Polychrome). The process never left me after that. I can encourage everybody, interested in ancient photographic processes, to attend a course in Middelburg.

What picture I use for my alternative processes doesn't interest me at all, I only want the print to look as good as possible.

See www.gomdruk.eu for more information and workshops.

I also collect Russian camera's without bellows. I have a lot of them, about 120, and it is a lot of work to keep them dust-free. Furthermore I have a small collection of twinlens reflexes, most flexarets and Yashica's and some Rolleicords and Rolleiflexes. The Rolleiflex with planar 3.5 I use sometimes. And the wooden camera's sitting in our living room eating space. Both are from the late 1800, I think around 1890. I must take them out one time to make pictures with them. Negsize is about 8*10. I also have a tailboard wooden camera with neg holders but it has no lens yet, I must find one.

Retired since January 1 2010. I will give all my time to my wife, children and GUMPRINTS.
