Hamish has been the Director of the Old Vic Tunnels since 2008.
Prior to joining the Old Vic, Hamish rooted his career in the TV and film industry and later starting working with Madonna and Guy Richie. After several years, Hamish went on to achieve his first critical acclaim, winning an Urban music award for Best Video 2005 for his direction.
In 2005, Hamish began working for Kevin Spacey at the Old Vic Theatre in London and is now a trustee of his personal Foundation. Hamish has worked with Kevin Spacey on a number of films, including The Social Network as well as Superman and global ad campaigns for IWC and Jameson.
Since being appointed as the Director of the Old Vic Tunnels, Hamish has shaped cutting-edge projects with the likes of Banksy and Punchdrunk. Most recently, the space played host to Minotaur - a critically acclaimed dining experience in the form of a Michelin Star pop-up restaurant and a unique collaboration of theatre, visual art, film and food. This was pioneered by Hamish and Kofler & Kompanie and artist Steve Lazarides.
The unique performance venue has been home to an exciting plethora of art and music since Hamish was appointed and the venue’s reputation as London’s most innovative underground performance space continues to strengthen showcasing some of the most ground-breaking arts projects the industry has to offer.

In addition to this, Hamish is also Chairman of Free The Children UK - The world’s largest children’s fund-raising organisations in the world, having built over 650 schools in the developing word. This is a role that Hamish considers to be of utmost importance.
