After a hiatus of over 40 years between high school in the Midwest and retirement from my career as a paralegal in California, I took a class in pastels and fell in love with the medium. Although I have worked in other dry media and painted landscapes, birds and animals, I am currently concentrating on portraiture and figurative art. I have been gratified by comments on my recent work complimenting me on capturing the essence of my subject and on an ability to “do so much more than catch a likeness.” I feel that my art is truly a gift and am thrilled to be able to learn and grow at this stage of my life.
