I am a former police officer in the Avon and Somerset Constabulary, born in Devon, grew up in Taunton, moved to Bristol at 18. I am not what you would call a technical photographer, I like to tell stories and record things, also I like the element of investigation photography can get you into. I am lucky enough to have a natural eye for composing images which helps cover up all my weaker photographic skills, and my favourite thing to do is sit back with a long lens and watch the world and capture those expressions and guestures only there in the candid shot. My other love is collecting lost photographs, the older the better. I cannot throw away an old photograph and one of my greatest delights is doing house clearances occasionally when I often come across piles of abandoned images, taking me back to my history and investigations, hopefully ending up with a story.

I am enjoying meeting up with Flickr friends as time goes on, I try hard to look at everything put on by people I follow and to comment where I think appropriate, I do think if someone has made the effort to produce a good or interesting image it is important to acknowledge that.

UPDATE - A lot has happened recently, Fanny and I have moved to Cheshire and we are living in a lovely rural spot just short of Wales near the River Dee, Chester is 8 miles away and Snowdon is only an hour and ten minutes away. So, getting settled and now planning some fun explorations with my camera.
