In Vietnam, much of life still happens outside – on the street. People trade, share news, and save on air conditioning.

Unlike in the West, where everyone cooks just for themselves, here you cook for neighbours and strangers alike.

Life begins when the sun sets, because the day is simply too hot.

That’s why many of my photos are taken in the dark – revealing a unique world of lights and colours rarely seen in other cities, where everything fades into grey.

Sometimes I feel a bit like Jean des Esseintes, preferring the glow of artificial light, where colours reveal their hidden depths.

There is still a true sense of togetherness here – something precious, and perhaps, something that won’t last forever.
