Macro photography is a wonderful way of showing the small things on the world. A lot of the earth's biodiversity is small and overlooked. I hope through my photos to create more awareness and a sense of amazement about the diversity of colours and shapes even among the small creatures roaming around in the nature.
It's amazing what you can find out when photographing. It's a great way to learn about nature and to watch the behaviour of animals, everything from springtails to birds.
I have grown even more fond of all living things, but I'm still most fascinated by the life of bees and wasps. Their complex behaviour and life history is intriguing and unique among insects.
I have been photographing with all kind of equipment including Nikon D60, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Pentax K100D Super, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 and several compact camera's. My first digital camera was the Nikon Coolpix 4500 and I still love to go in the field with it. Especially when you have to carry a lot of other stuff.
